Frequently Asked

What can you expect with an

average photo session?

What should I bring?

All you really need to worry about is bringing yourself and your pup! If your little one has a favorite toy or a particular treat they go nuts over, those would be good items to bring along as well.

My dog is a nut and sometimes it’s tough to get them to settle. The thought of them sitting still for a portrait seems impossible…

No worries! So are mine! Not every dog has the patience to sit and hold a perfect pose, but they all have the ability to look poised for at least a brief moment. It’s my goal to make that happen, and capture it when it does.

That said, I always recommend your dog has a grasp on basic commands. Clear communication makes our pups comfortable and confident, and Portland/Vancouver is filled with talented trainers that can help!

* We also have a running list of locations, some less crowded and more fit for reactive pups. Ask us about our 40 acre property in SW Washington, home of Bateaux Cellars Winery.

What if the weather takes a turn for the worse?

We live in the Pacific Northwest - weather will always be a challenge. Based on severity of conditions or rapid changes in weather, our shoot can always be rescheduled.

How can I help with the shoot, and can I be in any of the photos?

For the most part, your job is easy - show up and hang out. Sometimes I may request some assistance grabbing your pups attention or switching them from ‘play mode’ to ‘training mode’. You know your dog best, so you can always be of help.

Whether you’re in the photos with your pup or not is 100% up to you!

When will I receive photos from the shoot?

Post production generally takes up to three weeks from the day of the shoot. You will receive a follow up message within a day or so and your images of your beautiful pup within that time frame.
